Custom shares

Create custom data dashboards with custom shares

Besides the predefined share options we also offer custom shares. With custom shares you can turn the maps from your Mapbuilder into insightful location data dashboards. Dashboards you can share with your colleagues, embed on your webpage or integrate into your business application. You can add extensive filtering options, infowindows, export options or a login functionality. Spotzi custom shares gives you and your users the freedom to perform the best location analytics.

With custom shares you are able to add the following functionalities and edit the following settings:

Layers menu (incl. filters)

The custom sharing option allows you to customize the settings of every element like:

  • Enabling the layers menu (on/off)
  • Select the placement of the layers menu (left/top/float). Only the float option activates the layer menu filter
  • Select whether you want to turn on multiple layers at once or only one at the time
  • Select the option layer menu with filter

Remember that when you choose to put the layer menu on the left or let it float in the upper right corner you won’t be able to add a big infowindow or filter menu(!).

Custom shares

When you select to float placement you are also able to add a layer menu with filters. This means that you have the possibility to filter your data in the layers menu. The filters are automatically generated based on the styling that you have add to your map. Remember that you won’t be able to add a legend to your share when you have enabled the layer menu with filters.

Add a Column to a Dataset

Now you can choose the filters you want to add to your share. If you have a map with multiple layers you have to set a filter for every layer. The values and colors are automatically selected from the styling of your map (CSS). Name your filters.

Add a Column to a Dataset

If you haven’t set up any styling of your map you will receive a notification. Make sure to add columns or values that you can use as a filter.

Change colors, icons and values in the layer menu filter
Do you want to change the colors, icons or values that your filter uses? In that case you have to edit the styling of your map. This filter is automatically generated based on the styling you set in this section. So if you want to change any colors, icons or values. Just edit the styling of your map before creating a Map Share.

Big infowindow

The big infowindow shows you more information about a map feature. This is the data that you set in your infowindow. You can choose whether you want to enable a big infowindow and the placement. Remember that the placement options might differ because of the placement of your layers menu.

  • If you picked the option to place your layer menu on the left side you will only be able to place the big infowindow on the right side.
  • If you picked the floating placement of your layer menu you will only be able to place the big infowindow on the left side.

Filter menu

The filter menu gives you even more filtering options than the filter menu in the layer menu. Especially with datasets with a lot of features like addresses or businesses you have the possibility to select every address individually or set a specific range yourself. This gives you and the user of your dashboard much more freedom when creating filters.

Add a Column to a Dataset

When you have enabled the filter menu you can pick which columns you want to add to your filter. You have to select the columns of every layer.

Other options

After setting the layer menu, big infowindow and filter menu you are able to add some more map controls like zoom buttons, a search bar and a legend. You are also able to make your map static. That means that you won’t be able to pan or zoom on the map and block this functionality for your users. You can select the following functionalities:

  • Enabling the search bar (on/off)
  • Enabling the zoom buttons (on/off)
  • Enabling the map legend. In this case you already have a legend so the legend is automatically disabled.
