2-digit postal code Brazil

This data depicts the boundaries of all 2-digit postal code areas in Brazil. This Brazilian postalcode system is developed by the Brazilian national postal service (Correios) for a more efficient segmentation of Brazil. With this system each Brazilian region gets a unique code and locations can be found easily. Postalcodes in Brazil are known as código de endereçamento postal (CEP). This postal code system was introduced in 1972 as a 5-digit postal code system. In 1993 it has been expanded to 8 digits to allow more precise localization.

  • The third digit represents the Brazilian sector
  • The fourth digit represents the sub-sector
  • The fifth digit represents the sub-sector-distributor
  • The last three digits represent a specific delivery area
