How to edit multiple features in QGIS? [Guide]

Step 1: Add Layer

• Add a layer by selecting the layer menu in QGIS

Step 2: Start Editing

• Start by turning on the "Edit" function in QGIS by pressing the pencil icon in the menu.
• The sample below shows regions in Germany. When you turn on the edit function all of these features will turn red.

• In this tutorial we will edit multiple objects for example, regions. This requires us to also turn on the Select function (as shown below):

• You can now select multiple objects by holding down the CTRL button and selecting the objects you want to edit. In our example we have selected 4 German regions.

• Once you are finished selecting your objects please RIGHT CLICK on your map's name (in our example this name is Export_Output). Next open the Attribute Table as shown below:

• The final step is displaying the content of your selected objects. This can be done in the lower right-hand corner as shown below:

• The selected objects are now visible, and you can edit any field you like.

• Once you've finished editing you can close the Attribute Table. IMPORTANT: Save your changes by clicking the pencil icon once more!
