How to export a KML from Google Maps?

If you already have geodata for your business in Google Maps and want to use it in the Spotzi geomarketing platform, did you know that you can easily export it? In Google Maps, you can effortlessly export a KML file, which you can then import and use for your next visitor profile or consumer profile. Below, you can find step-by-step instructions:

  1. Open your web browser and go to mymaps.google.com.
  2. Sign in to your Google account if you are not already logged in.
  3. You will see a list of your custom maps. If you haven't created one yet, click on "Create a new map."
  4. Open the custom map you want to export as a KML file by clicking on its name.
  5. In the map editor, locate the "More options" button, typically represented by three vertical dots, usually located next to the map's name or in the top left corner of the screen. Click on it.
  6. In the dropdown menu, select "Export to KML/KMZ."
  7. A window will appear, offering the option to export as a KML file or a KMZ file. Choose the format you prefer.
  8. Click the "Download" button to save the KML or KMZ file to your computer.

That's it! You've successfully exported a KML file from Google Maps. You can now use this file in our geomarketing platform.
