This dataset provides detailed insights into particulate matter (PM10) concentrations across the Netherlands. Discover areas with high or low pollution levels and explore trends in air quality based on measurements from official monitoring stations.
By creating a free Spotzi account, you can analyze this data directly in the Spotzi platform. Run spatial analyses, visualize patterns, and gain valuable insights to better understand air quality in your area.
Since January 1, 2010, the following European standards apply for particulate matter (PM10):
- Annual average limit: 20 μg/m³
- Daily limit: 50 μg/m³ (may be exceeded no more than 7 times per year).
This map displays the concentration of particulate matter (PM10) across the Netherlands. The values are expressed in micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m³). The higher the value, the greater the air pollution in that area.
The highest PM10 concentrations are typically found within 100 meters of busy highways and within 50 meters of busy urban roads. As a result, high concentrations are mainly measured in the larger municipalities of the Netherlands.
